About LaSalle

LaSalle is one of the oldest European settlements west of Quebec that has been continuously inhabited. The French settled here in the 1700s, and since then people have continued to flock here for its ideal location on the river and fertile agricultural land.

Many of the people who live in LaSalle and the surrounding hamlets and villages actually work in Windsor or across the river in Detroit, Michigan. This has made it somewhat of a bedroom town consisting of mainly young families and working professionals.

LaSalle’s convenient location on the Detroit River gives it easy access to Detroit via the Ambassador Bridge or the Windsor-Detroit truck ferry system. County Road 20 runs along the western edge of the town and connects to Highway 401 for access to Windsor and points beyond.
